Explore Old Town Albuquerque After visiting the Albuquerque Museum you should visit Old Town. As the name suggests this is the oldest part of Albuquerque. Whether you are traveling with kids, friends or a romantic getaway you will have a lot of fun in Old Town. Most of the action takes place around the Old Town Square. Concert bands play a variety of genres including mariachi, jazz, funk and country music in the square every weekend during the summer. The square also hosts concerts and events during the Balloon phonelist.io/ Festival and Christmas. Shops are dotted around the square selling everything from wine glasses to ceramics made by indigenous artisans. For art lovers there are many galleries in the Old Town. Whether you're interested in traditional Southwestern art or contemporary and postmodern art, there's something for you. an artist group established in 2006. It features works by local artists in a variety of styles and mediums. If your tastes are more modern and experimental then the Lapis Lazuli Room just off the square is the place for you. The best thing about the Lapis Lazuli Room is that you can enjoy a glass of wine while admiring the art. The back of the gallery leads directly to the tasting room, just be careful not to overflow. One of the best options if you want to stay near the Plaza is that it serves typical gastropub fare and a range of New Mexican specialties.
